This is the first place where the Portuguese Navigator Vasco da Gama landed in Kerala and here started relationship between India and Europe. A monument is still kept there for the remembrance of this historical event. The place is known for its charm and beauty standing towards the middle of the sea it has two crumbling piers which are more than  a hundred years old. Viewing the sunset and sunrise from here is a pacifying view. It is famous for the Ayurvedic salons which provide a variety of treatments .
