KERALA AT A GLANCE

Kerala at a glance

The reason why Kerala enjoys worldwide attention is partly due to its pleasant geography, which sees the Arabian sea in the west part and in the eastern part lies the Western Ghats. The unique resource location of Kerala enjoys a network of 44 rivers adding to its phenomenal beauty. Exotic wildlife, paddy fields, lush green forests, beautiful backwaters, picturesque locations and many more are what defines the inherent beauty of the place, giving travellers like me to visit the place year after year.

With cent percent literacy, here are some of the major cities of Kerala:

Thiruvananthapuram

Thrissur
Kozhikode

People

People here are uber-friendly who go out of their way to help you in case you have no idea what’s going on or where you are. With cent percent literacy in the region, people here are very open to acceptance in terms of female education and equal treatment for all. Since the place houses people from different religions, all the major festivals are celebrated with equal joy and positive spirit.

History

A place that speaks of ancient trade, the history of Kerala has been linked very much to the commercial relations with Greeks, Romans, Arabs, Chinese, Portuguese, Dutch, French and the British.
