EAT THE BEST BREAKFAST

THE WORLDS BEST BREAKFAST

Two of the major reasons why I love Kerala, other than the greenery is – 1 the culture and 2 the food, which is nothing less than godly. With traditions and religion that vary from region to region, Kerala has always made waves for the delicacies. In general, cuisines here will always have an element of Coconut, Rice, Tapioca, Cloves and Black Pepper, which ads to the spicy delight. Other than the grand fiesta of Onam, here are certain things that a visitor should never miss:

PUTTU AND KADALA CURRY

This is a staple breakfast irrespective of the region in Kerala. Puttu is actually rice cake cooked using steam within a cylindrical cooker. Of course you will find grated coconut as well within. Puttu along with Kadala Curry or even banana is the best start to your day.

APPAM -STEW

Another staple meal of Kerala, Appam is prepared from fermented rice flour and coconut milk. My western friends can consider this as an Indian improvised and healthier version of Pan Cake. Stew is an aromatic combination of spices, coconut milk, ginger and vegetables that add up to the taste.

MALABAR POROTTA

Parotta is a popular sort of bread in Kerala and is actually layered flour softened with water and oil. Parotta goes well with all the popular delicacies of Kerala such as Kadala curry, beef or even chicken curry.
