Following a closure of over 16 days due to the Mundakkai-Chooralmala disaster on July 30, six tourism centres under the District Tourism Promotion Council (DTPC), led by the District Collector, were partially reopened on Thursday. The reopened centres include Town Square (Sulthan Bathery), Wayanad Heritage Museum (Ambalavayal), Pookkode Lake (Lakkidi), Karlad Lake (Vythiri), Pazhassi Landscape Museum (Pulppalli), and Karapuzha Dam (Karappuzha) tourism centre. These centres will operate until 4 pm daily. Despite requests from tourism operators and stakeholders, entry restrictions remain in place at Kanthanpara Waterfalls, Edakkal Caves, Cheengery Tourism Centre, Ambalavayal, and Pazhassi Park, Mananthavady.
